Why we are having Minds of All Kinds - Casino Royale!

Our students are smart and funny and adorable, but their brains are wired differently so sometimes it's difficult for them to learn.

One out of five children has a learning disability. Learning disabilities cut across demographic lines. Learning disabilities don't care if you are out of work because of the economy, or were downsized. They don't care that you are a single mother.

Your participation in the Minds of All Kinds - Casino Royale Gala helps to ensure a brighter future for students with learning disabilities, so thank you for reading our blog.

We hope you can come to the Gala to support our students, our mission, and our school. Take a look at just some of the fabulous items we will have for silent and live auction.

(Make sure to click on the "Older Posts" link so you don't miss any of the Gala auction items.)

American Girl: Kanani

Meet Kanani, the 2011 Girl of the Year!  She loves to share the aloha spirit of Hawai'i with others.  Kanani arrives wearing a bright tropical ocean blue, floral print dress with a sequined appliqué and a ruffled hem, perfect for island life; a faux hibiscus flower to wear in her long, loose curls; a traditional Hawaiian necklace made of pretend kukui nuts; bright blue ruffled sandals; and cotton underwear.  The Kanani doll is 18 inches tall with a soft cloth body—perfect for hugging.  Also includes the Aloha, Kanani paperback book written by Lisa Yee.  This is the first story about this cheerful American girl.
